Buckley Estates will Adjoin Harrison Park on the West
A proposed 47 acre subdivision consisting of approximately 74 residential, single family lots is planned on the west side of
Harrison Park. The subdivision is tentatively name Buckley Estates and will result in the continuation of the Buckley Drive
through to Meadowbrook Road. The HP BOD (Harrison Park – Board of Directors) met with the developer, Mike Ryan, and had an
opportunity to hear details about the proposed subdivision and express some initial concerns regarding traffic, water drainage,
asthstetics, and utilities. A number of public meetings will be held throughout the approval process. Meeting dates will be
posted on the Harrison Park website as we become aware of them.
Alderman Candidates and Subdivision Developer
To Be At Annual Meeting March 10
The Annual Harrison Park Meeting will be held at
10 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Lutheran High School.
Among the topics to be covered:
Annual Harrison Park Budget
Election of Officers and Block Representatives
Developer – Buckley Estates
Alderman Tom Selinger
Alderman Candidate Steven Dove
This is an important meeting for the residents of Harrison Park.
You will have a chance to ask direct questions to Mr. Dove and Mr. Selinger about issues that are important to you;
such as local taxes, police protection, the smoking ban, municipal services, i.e. street repair, and of course,
continued residential development near Harrison Park.
The developer of Buckley Estates will also be present to give you an update on the time-line and progress of Buckley Estates.
Mr. Ryan will also answer questions and address concerns you may have.
A new President and Secretary will also be elected for Harrison Park. Significant changes have been made recently to
lighten the load of these positions. Discussions on delegating certain annual events such as the Block Party, Newsletters,
and the Garage Sale, to voluntary committees may further reduce these leadership responsibilities.
Consider what you can do to help make 2007 a Great year for Harrison Park neighbors.
Carbon Monoxide Detectors
On January 1, 2007, a new act became effective. It is known as the Carbon Monoxide Alarm Detector Act.
Every dwelling unit must be equipped with at least one approved carbon monoxide alarm in operating condition within 15 feet
of every room used for sleeping purposes. This law applies to all dwelling not just rental homes or apartment buildings.
In the case of rental units, it is the responsibility of the owner to supply and install the alarms.
It is the responsibility of the tenant to test and to provide general maintenance of the alarms and to notify the
owner of any deficiences that the tenant can not correct.
Daylight Saving is March 11, 2007
2007 Spring Garage Sale will be Saturday, May 19th.
